IN THE PRESIDENT'S CORNER
WITH SHARON CAMPBELL...
What a GREAT turnout! Thank you to all the other Clubs who came
out to join us. Our club has once again lived up to its reputation
of putting on a mega-wonderful buffet… Thanks to all of you who so
generously provided the scrumptious food. However, other than good
food, it appears I have retained my last place crown. But really
guys, I’d gladly give it up!
We are getting close to the November Open Meeting and Election of
Officers. We hope you will all support us in attending the meeting,
and if anyone is interested in running for the Board of Directors,
please let us know. As a reminder to the present Board, if your term
is coming to an end, we need to have your commitment and resume
before October.
Hope you all had as good a time as I did ‘Shooting for the
Stars;’ let’s head on up to La Habra 300 Bowl next month and bowl up
a storm. See you all then.

What a great turn-out we had for our Invitational - just like old
times with a lot of participants and old friends. Don’t forget to
turn in your high and low scores. These scores must be bowled in a
USBC Certified event (league or tournament). Just send me a copy of
your recap - 902 Evonda, Santa Ana, CA 92703. Submit your scratch
scores and we’ll take it from there. Awards are presented at the
November Open Meeting. Scores will be posted each month from here on
out. Scores must be bowled between August 1, 2007 and July 31, 2008.
Time is running out for this season - you better get rollin’! We
have received invitations from Long Beach 500 Club for their
tournament on August 23, San Gabriel Valley for their Casino
Turnaround on August 16 (the same day as our tournament) and San
Fernando Valley for the Inter-Association Team Trio on October 26.

I will be out of town for our 41st Birthday Party, celebrating my
own birthday and WISHING I was only 41! Please submit all entries
this month to Gracie Hastings who will be taking over for me. She
always does a great job - be nice to her and TRY TO GET YOUR ENTRIES
IN EARLY! All of her information is on the Tournament Entry which is
enclosed. This will be our Alibi Tournament, bowl 4 games, throw out
your low score. All games will be USBC certified and the first 3
games will be certified as a series. I will hope to see you all at
Valley View in September.
