Hi All,
Congratulations to the Single’s Champions, 500 Club and Boosters;
nice bowling! Hope to see all of you at Linbrook Lanes for the
Mystery Doubles; you know help someone who keeps getting last place.
Ladies if you haven’t signed up for the Team Trio tournament why
not consider doing so? This is a once a year tournament held by
different 500 Clubs. We would love to see lots of our ladies there
this year as we are hosting it next year and it would be nice to
have several teams from our club attending this event. If you need
an entry form please stop by and see Phyllis.

It was nice to see you all at the Singles Championships. The
staff at Valley View Lanes has been very accommodating to us this
year - it’s nice to be back.
Don’t forget to get your teams together for the Trio Tournament.
Entry forms will be available at the Check-In table next Saturday.
If you are having trouble getting a team together, let me know and
maybe we can pool our resources.
We have posted the final list of high scores for 2007-08. Please
plan to attend the Open Meeting to pick up your award. Now it’s time
to start sending in your new scores. If you have any questions
please ask me at any tournament.

500 CLUB ELECTION OF OFFICERS
COMING UP AT THE NOVEMBER MEETING
Are you interested in running for a position on our Board of
Directors? This year we will elect President, 2nd Vice President,
Sergeant-at-Arms and (5) FIVE Directors. If you are interested and
would like more information, please talk with any Board Member. You
will need to submit a short resume of your bowling history,
including any leagues you have participated in or any league offices
you may have held, to Sandy Hingst, our Nominating Chairperson. You
can email her at slhhome@att.net or call her at (714) 639-2386. She
will be glad to help you with your resume. All resumes must be
submitted by October 1st.

 Christmas
is coming – If you received this newsletter via post mail, enclosed
were your five (5) tickets for our Annual Christmas Basket Raffle.
This is our biggest fund raiser of the year and we really appreciate
your support. Please sell them or buy them yourself. Send your
tickets stubs and $5 to the Christmas Basket Chairperson, Cindy
Bender, 4564 Valley View, Yorba Linda, CA 92886. If you have any
questions or if you would like additional tickets you can call Cindy
at (714) 524-0997. We are also looking for any donations we can get
for the baskets: Christmas items, gift cards, food items, etc… If
you can help out please bring your donations to the October or
November tournament. And mark your calendar for the Christmas
Tournament, Saturday, December 13th, at Yorba Linda Bowl. We will
have Hospitality Tables and a Gift Exchange and this year we are
inviting other clubs. So start digging out your recipes and decide
on a delicious “finger food” you can bring to share. Any questions
about the Christmas Party or food donations should be directed to
Gracie Hastings (714)392-9822.

list and save money wherever we can, especially with the price of
postage these days. If you are one of the lucky ones to cash in the
monthly tournament we will mail your check – you won’t have to wait
until the following month.

This month’s tournament will be Mystery Doubles at Linbrook Bowl.
Boosters’ format will be dependent on how many entries are received.
If there aren’t enough for doubles you will bowl singles. Gracie
will be handling the tournament this month while I am enjoying some
vacation time. Please email or call her with your entries. The
information is on the entry form.
Please keep Joyce Coursey and her family in your prayers. Her
twin sister has been battling cancer and was put under hospice care
last week. We all love you, Joyce.
(A late note: After the newsletter was printed I found out that
Joyce’s sister passed away on Tuesday, September 30th.)
My church kids thank you all for the candy I won last month! Even
you Joe Munoz!!!

INTER ASSOCIATION
TEAM TRIO TOURNAMENT
Sunday, October 26th
San Fernando Valley 500 Club
Bowling at Canoga Bowl - Canoga Park
Entry fee is $60 per team ($20/each)
Teams must consist of three 500 club members holding current USBC
cards.
Lunch following.
Schedule:
Sunday, October 26th Meeting at 10:00am, tournament at 11:00, lunch
after bowling. Non-bowler lunch available to guests for $5. Limited
to 32 teams. Entry deadline is Sunday, October 19th. 2 Divisions: A
- 466 and over; B - 465 and below. Handicap is 80% of 190. Need more
